About the Women’s Healing and Empowerment Network

Women’s Healing and Empowerment Network (WHEN), a faith-based, non-profit organization, was founded in 2008 as a response to the growing need for programs and services to address the issues of domestic violence and sexual abuse in the faith community.

The issue WHEN addresses

The escalation of emotional and mental disorders resulting from unresolved issues are increasing in Christian families and relationships. Counselors, teachers, pastors, and church members agree that there are many Christians dealing with issues that negatively impact their lives. They also agree that there are limited resources and services designed to provide safety for victims, education for perpetrators, and address the causes, effects, treatment, and prevention of family violence and related abuse concerns.

There is a need for Scripture to be interpreted rightly so that the true meaning of the roles, privileges, and responsibilities of each family member can be addressed from a Christian perspective. Because of the escalation of emotional and mental disorders resulting from unresolved issues, and dysfunctional family systems, many families are at risk of disintegrating.

Our mission

WHEN helps to provide healing and empowerment to individuals, families, homes, churches, schools, and other organizations through educatoin, counseling, healing centers, resources and other support services in the areas of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and related abuse. We consult with and assist religious and secular organizations in establishing policies and procedures that can help prevent child abuse, protect victims and hold perpetrators accountable for their actions.
