Stolen Truck

On October 27, Jimmy Suckow, manager of Cleone’s Closet Food Pantry, discovered that our truck was stolen. We contacted the Airway Heights police, who assured us that they would do everything they could to retrieve the truck.

In the meantime, KHQ did a news story which reached community members and resulted in an outpouring of support and offers to help. On November 1, State Police called to inform that the truck was found. After being inspected by a certified mechanic, we were told that the truck is not repairable. I was disappointed, but hopeful.

I have learned that often times blessings come from curses and, when we lose something that is beneficial, the Lord has a way of giving us something better, and He has. Michael Crouse of Total Security offered us a security system which he also installed.

One community businessman, who chooses to be anonymous, encouraged us to do a fundraising event and raise $10,000 to get another truck. He donated $100 to start the fundraising. Having heard about the stolen vehicle, the 92 Security Forces Squadron of Fairchild Air Force Base donated $250. To date, we have raised $750 without sharing our fundraising hopes with the community!
