John Solomon, Previous Board Member

John has served as a Pastor, Teacher and community leader for 20 years, helping those with difficulties to lead a more abundant life. He has helped local churches serve seniors at assisted living facilities, challenged children, families of divorce, widows, and those with alcohol/drug problems. While a teacher, he was a school counselor, encouraging high school and junior high students to make better choices and helping them through challenges. He is currently a police chaplain in the city of Spokane and helps families and those in uniform through difficult circumstances. He is dedicated to fostering healthy people and families through stronger community support. He is honored to support WHEN.

Dennis Mitchell, Previous Board Member

Dennis is a highly sought after, dynamic, sensational, celebrity speaker and emcee. He delivers keynote presentations, student activity lecture programs, and talks to thousands of students each year on self-empowerment and success.

Laura Bracken, Marketing Professional

Laura Bracken was the founder and principal of DesignSpike, a thriving marketing firm located in Spokane, WA. She also served as president of Women’s Healing and Empowerment and helped the organization to upgrade its website and marketing tools. Laura currently works in Spokane as a web site designer.

Laura Lindsay, Previous Board Chair

Prior to her arrival in the Spokane region Laura served as a Legal Assistant with the Carmen Law Office in Walla Walla, Washington. She is a strong advocate for serving the community.

Craig Fruin, Previous Board Chair

Craig Fruin is the General Manager/Operating Partner of Spokane Hyundai. A commercial pilot by trade, 9/11 forced Craig to consider other career options, which has led to a 20-year career in retail automotive, sales, and service. Before Spokane Hyundai, Craig ran successful Honda, BMW, and Infiniti dealerships to record growth and market share in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. With the acquisition of Spokane Hyundai, Craig and his wife Amber moved their family from Calgary to Spokane in 2018. As a proud employer in Spokane Valley, Craig, his family and staff are committed to supporting the community, giving back to those in need.

Cyndy Koures

Cyndy built her life on one principle – never underestimate the power of knowledge. She’s a current Master’s student at Gonzaga University after logging thirty-plus years as a reporter, anchor, producer, Assistant News Director, and News Director in towns across Idaho, Washington, Montana, and Colorado.

Cyndy started her career as a 17-year-old intern and camera operator in Kalispell, Montana. She graduated from Brigham Young University and anchored, reported, produced, and led newsrooms in Lewiston, the Tri-Cities, Spokane, Missoula, and Grand Junction.

Cyndy currently works as a copywriter for Ellis Media. Previously, she worked as a News Director in Grand Junction, Colorado. During her tenure, her staff swept the Colorado Broadcasters Association awards, winning 16 of 24 awards. The station also won Best Documentary for her work writing, reporting, and producing a half-hour special.

Most of her career was spent as a reporter, radio news anchor, backup anchor, and producer at KXLY TV and AM in Spokane. While there, she covered a serial killer case, traveled to Russia for the station, and was fortunate enough to work with National Press Photographers Association award-winning photographers on several long-form projects. She also worked for every major television news network, covering local stories of national interest.

As a reporter, Cyndy was nominated for several Emmy’s and won for Best Writing for a Prime Time Special on Glacier National Park. She was named Montana's Best News Writer for four years and won numerous Associated Press, Radio, Television, News Directors, and Society of Professional Journalists awards.

Cyndy has two adult children, two destructive cats, and one dog.

Trey Lindsay

Trey has thirty years experience in digital content creation (DCC), video production, design and marketing.  He has received several awards throughout his career, including a Silver Telly at the 26th annual Telly Awards for his work on a broadcast television commercial showcased in the American southwest. Trey’s experience spans multiple industries, including: aerospace, national defense, non profit organizations, hospitality, skilled trades, travel and tourism, technology, manufacturing, health care, consulting, and more. Trey brings his passion and expertise in creating compelling visual messages to WHEN, and is dedicated to our mission of helping survivors of abuse find empowerment and new joy in living. He resides in Tacoma, WA, with his partner (a veterinary technician) and a variety of animal “kids”.
