About My Identity

For many years I struggled to REALLY know God.  I questioned who He is and why He allowed me to be born. Many people tried to answer these questions for me. However, I realized that some of their responses came from their experiences, fears, pain, disappointments, hurts, opinions, value and belief systems.  I was comforted as I read, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” -Ephesians 2:10. Through his trials Job said “The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.” -Job 33:4.  

But some questions still haunted me, “What is the TRUTH about me?” Who am I”?  “Why am I here?”  As I continued praying, reading, and seeking the Holy Spirit’s guidance, I realized that the truth about me is what God says, Mable you are “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14). 

The statement that really changed my life and helped me to begin to understand my value is this, “Every human being (that includes me), created in the image of God is endowed with power akin to that of the Creator:  individuality, power to think and to do.”  Ellen. G. White, Education, page 17. 

So, I am a powerful human being created in the image of God endowed with individuality (distinctiveness, uniqueness) with the ability to think, feel and do! How amazing! I am Mable Dunbar, a caring, competent, unique Christian woman called and chosen by God to do a special work for Him:   To Help Empower Abused Lives (HEAL).
